Sarita Ford, LCSW-C, MSW '15,
Clinician and Owner of Intentional Healing Therapeutic Services


Sarita Ford, a graduate of University of Maryland School of Social Work, has experience working with psychiatric rehabilitation programs, mental health clinics, and secondary schools. As a Board Approved Clinical Supervisor, she offers supervision to school social workers and independent clinicians.

In addition to her work as a school social worker and private practitioner, she is releasing a book called “It Takes a Village”, with 6 other successful social workers. “It Takes a Village” provides inspirational stories on how to navigate the social work profession in the macro and clinical settings. The book provides professional development tools, information about licensure prep, starting a private practice, wellness, and more. Perfect for students, graduates, professionals, and people who believe in the power of community.

March 8th – Strategic Negotiation for Women: Getting Past No (9:00 AM – 12:15 PM)
In 2022, the uncontrolled gender pay gap for women is $0.82 for every $1 that men make, which is the same as the previous year. In this workshop, participants will explore basic negotiation and bargaining concepts with a focus on the impact of gender at the negotiation table. During this three-hour workshop you will consider obstacles often faced—or feared—by women in negotiation, explore basic negotiation concepts and tips for success, and practice your bargaining skills with your peers.

March 14th – I Want to Build a Practice, Now What? (12:00 – 1:15 PM)
Starting and building a private practice means you are not only a practitioner, but you are now a small business owner. The panelists will discuss their experiences, challenges and best practices around building a private practice. Attendees will also receive valuable tips on branding, marketing, and establishing a niche for their practice.

March 28th – What Does it Mean to Be a Leader in Social Work? (12:00 – 1:15 PM)
The social work profession has a long history of producing some of the top leaders that have create societal change through organizations, government, communities and society as a whole. As social workers the leadership skill set is a part of the degree. Steven Lewis will discuss how his social work degree, skills, training, and expertise lead him into leadership and management roles. He will also discuss how we prepare the next generation of social work leaders and continue to show the value of the profession.

LifeBridge Health’s Center for Hope provides intervention and prevention for child abuse, domestic violence, street violence, and elder justice for survivors, caregivers, and communities.

The Director of Clinical Services is a key member of the Center for Hope’s Leadership team and is charged with the supervision of programming and staff for counseling and case management initiatives within Center for Hope.
