Dear School of Social Work Community,

We are happy to announce that we are enhancing our internal communications and replacing the Daily Bulletin with the SSW ELM Weekly newsletter beginning Monday, August 14. This is an improved way of centralizing information. Once a week, on Tuesday, you will receive the newsletter, but all information will live permanently on our SSW ELM website page here.

This is a great resource that will allow for easier dissemination of information in a centralized way.

Here is an overview of all the feature, a description of the type of content to submit, and instructions on how to submit. Please, of course let us know if you have any questions.

The Daily Bulletin will be replaced with SSW Weekly ELM starting Monday, August 14, 2023.

The SSW ELM Weekly will feature the following sections on the web page and email.
  1. Announcements
  2. Accolades
  3. Stories
  4. Voices & Opinions
  5. Calendar (Events)

Review the steps below for steps on how to submit for each section. If you have any questions, contact the communications team. We recommend you retain this message for your records.

(1) Announcements
An announcement is shorter and in general can be about an upcoming event, trainings, podcasts, something that affects the campus such as holiday hours, etc. The announcement should include event, time and date, place, registration info and link, etc., in the body of the announcement type. We don’t want readers to be interested in an event and not be able to easily find how to register or where it is being held in the announcement. It does not have to include a photo or graphic, though it is often better to do so because the photo will display in Elm Weekly as the thumbnail.
